Soy candles - what are they?

.

Soy candles are scented candles made from soy wax. Soy wax, in turn, is a processed form of soya bean oil. Producing a soy candle requires the use of an oil hydrogenation process - raising the melting point to produce a harder consistencyand.

Are soy candles healthy?

.

Soy is used in many food products and is considered safe. Soy candles, while not showing any proven health-promoting properties, are certainly not harmfuland. They are safe products that do not produce toxic substances.

Soy candles give off pleasant aromas, which can support our mood and introduce a positive atmosphere. However, we would like to point out that they do not have a medicinal effect. Ilona Krzak, M.Sc. in pharmacy, explains that these products contain too small amounts of essential oils to be used in aromatherapy.

.
If we want to carry out a therapeutic, aromatherapy session, we need to stock up on essential oils. I personally recommend the following oils: eucalyptus, lavender, tea tree and thieves' oil. However, remember not to use them on children under the age of 2, allergy sufferers, asthmatics and people with bronchial hypersensitivity.

Soy candles - how to burn?

.

Do not burn a soy candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This will preserve its pleasant fragrance for longer. If you heat the candle too much, the essential oils will evaporate from the candle faster.

Please remember to place the candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from flammable objects. If there are young children around - make sure they do not have access to the candle.

Where to buy soy candles?

.

Soy candles are best bought online. This allows you to choose from the widest range of products, as well as the best prices. However, you can also buy these items in stationary shops. Soy candles are available, for example, at Pepco or Rossmann.

.

Soy or beeswax candles - which to choose?

.

Soy and beeswax candles are very good options for allergy sufferers and people with, for example, asthma. They do not emit harmful substancesand. The advantage of beeswax products is that they have a longer burning time than soy candles.

The advantage of soy candles is their fragrance. The aromas that are emitted by these products are more intense. Beeswax candles smell more delicate.
