Hair supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding

      .

Many pregnant women reach for vitamin supplements to take care of their health and appearance. This special period requires attention to an adequate supply of nutrients.

What should mothers-to-be keep in mind?

      .
.
Pregnancy supplements are an important dietary supplement for pregnant women. It is already common knowledge that you need to take folic acid (sometimes in a methylated - active form) or vitamin D. Therefore, if you are planning intensive supplementation or are carrying one out and are pregnant - talk to your gynaecologist about whether it is definitely good for you and your baby.

.

Not all vitamins are good for pregnancy. For example, an excess of vitamin A is highly teratogenic, i.e. harmful to the foetus, the doctor adds.

Are you breastfeeding and want to support nail regeneration after pregnancy and postpartum? Can you use dietary supplements? I asked my pharmacist about this.

.
Food supplements containing B vitamins, vitamins A and E, as well as micronutrients such as zinc or copper, should have no harmful effects during breastfeeding. We can successfully find these ingredients in preparations intended specifically for breastfeeding women.

Memorise a balanced, nutritious diet while breastfeeding. Diet, not supplementation, is the most important source of nutrients. If you are in doubt about supplementation with specific ingredients - ask your GP or pharmacist for advice, adds Ilona Krzak, M.D.

      • Do the following.
