Media about us:

Burning, pinching, itching, dry or "strawberry" skin... Ouch! The intimate areas don't have it easy with us. Sometimes we want to wear tight underwear, we are active in sports and sex, or we depilate ourselves because we like our skin to be smooth.

Regenerating intimate oil is a nourishing support not only for the delicate bikini area, but also for the whole body. It nurtures, supports the skin's natural protective barrier, soothes irritation and chafing, and makes perineal massage extra pleasant.

.

From this article you will learn:

  • What are the best intimate oils

  • Why you should use intimate oils

Criteria for selection - what are the characteristics of a good intimate oil?

.

In preparing the list, we took strict criteria into account to select the best products. We paid attention to:

  • Oil composition. Substances that come into contact with the delicate perineal area must be safe for the skin. At the same time, they should regenerate and nourish it effectively.
  • Potentiating ingredients.
  • Allergenic potential. The cosmetic should not contain the allergens indicated in the European Parliament regulation in its composition.
  • .
  • Functionality. A good oil will cope with many skin problems (irritation, dryness or abrasions), and can be used for perineal massage and the care of other parts of the body.
  • Functionality.
  • Reports. Positive reviews by users and professionals are a valuable guide - life itself best verifies the usefulness and quality of a cosmetic.
  • Reports.
  • Brand mission. We like manufacturers who, in addition to selling oil, offer something more - a contribution to sexual education, spreading health knowledge or caring for the environment.

Intimate oil is used for external care of the perineal area. It is not the same as intimate gel for moisturising the vagina and facilitating slippage during sex.

What do we like it for?

    • We like the simple and safe composition of the oil, which is great for all skin types. It prepares the skin for childbirth, and during the postpartum period it will ensure maximum hygiene thanks to its exceptional anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

Intimate oil - what is it used for?

    .

Intimate oil is used for the gentle care of the bikini area. It has a moisturising, regenerating and soothing effect on irritation. It soothes the skin after abrasions, shaving or depilation and prevents skin inflammation (e.g. red pimples).

It is also used to soothe the skin.

The formulation usually contains oils, oils and plant extracts and extracts. Intimate oils have a light texture, spread easily and are quickly absorbed. They are an excellent addition to daily body care.

    Who is intimate oil for?

    .

The oil is for anyone who wants to take care of their delicate and attention-needing intimate areas. Its marketing is mainly aimed at women, but there are also men who sneak the oils to their women! What's more, when caressing together, they too enjoy the moisturising and pleasurable feel of their partner's skin!

If you are wondering whether you need such an oil, my answer is: yes! Every woman should take care of her intimate area. This part of the body deserves care and nourishment just like the rest of your body.

    Oil for the intimate area!

Intimate oil is for you if:

    • you have dry skin in the bikini area,
    • .
    • you have skin irritation after depilation or shaving,
    • .
    • you have a tendency to ingrown hairs,
    • .
    • you are prone to chafing (e.g. you wear tight or unweathered underwear),
    • .
    • you wear sanitary napkins or urological pads,
    • .
    • you engage in sports that expose you to chafing (e.g. cycling, running, trekking),
    • .
    • you use swimming pools with chlorinated water,
    • .
    • you are pregnant or in the postpartum period (or preparing for it),
    • .
    • you like perineal massages,
    • .
    • you are looking for safe and gentle perineal care,
    • .

In these skin needs, intimate oil will help you. It has the properties:

    • hydrating,
    • .
    • regenerating,
    • .
    • soothing irritation (e.g. after shaving),
    • .
    • skin care for the entire body (e.g. for dry heels, irritated armpits after shaving),
    • .
    • protective,
    • .
    • firming,
    • .

Do not apply intimate oil during intercourse in a latex condom. Oils damage latex and this can lead to breakage. If you use non-latex condoms during intercourse, it is better to use a dedicated lubricant or gel for them.

    How to use intimate oil?

    .

Use intimate oil after washing yourself thoroughly and drying your skin (preferably with a cotton towel). Spread a few drops of the cosmetic on your skin. You can use it every day or according to your needs, e.g. after depilation or during a perineal massage. Rub it in at any time of the day. This can be your morning and evening skincare ritual.

    .

For irritation and abrasions of the vulva or perineal area, drying powders with talcum powder and creams with zinc oxide (e.g. Sudocrem) should not be used in large quantities. With prolonged use and insufficient hygiene, the labia may become sticky or inflamed.

    Intimate oil - expert opinions

    .
    .
As a physiotherapist, I recommend intimate oils especially when preparing for a natural childbirth, to work with the scar after a perineal incision or caesarean section. I recommend this cosmetic to every woman, regardless of age! The oils reduce irritation, moisturise and improve skin nourishment, and the application itself is an incredibly pleasant ritual.

Intimate oils are a great addition to the daily care of the bikini area. Regular use promotes good hygiene, improves blood circulation, increases skin elasticity and firmness and has an anti-ageing effect. Let's care for our delicate intimate areas as we care for our skin.

Intimate oils protect and care for irritated skin, which is prone to inflammation during healing. This is not encouraged by wearing underwear made of poorly breathable materials, using inappropriate hygiene products or frequent shaving. Oils restore the skin's damaged lipid barrier and are a great addition to daily body care.

Take care of your perineum every day. What does your vulva like?

    .

There are plenty of guides out there, how to look after your complexion to make it radiant or how to care for your hair "for a taffy". And what to do to keep your crotch pampered, groomed and healthy?

    .
    • Don't wear tight underwear. We understand if you have your favourite tight knickers - but save them for special occasions rather. Wearing tight underwear on a daily basis can abrade the skin and cause intimate infections to developand.
    • Care for interior. Support adequate vaginal microflora with the help of nutritious meals. Include probiotic-rich foods - yoghurt, kefir, kimchi, pickles - in your diet.
    • Remember the vulva when treating scrofula other organs. Your doctor - in addition to prescribing an antibiotic - will order a probiotic to protect your stomach. Go one step further - remember to nourish your vaginal microflora. Buy a gynaecological probiotic.
    • .
    • Provide the best hygiene when washing. Use water alone (yes, it's the best!) or mild cleansers that are non-allergenic and non-irritating (check out our recommendations above). Don't use sponges or washes - your hands are the most hygienic.
    • .
    • Wash and wipe in a front-to-back direction. By maintaining this direction, you don't transfer bacteria from the anal area to your vaginaand.

    FAQ

    .
. What is the best oil for intimate areas?.

The best intimate oil should contain oils with moisturising, regenerating and skin-nourishing properties. The following oils have such qualities: jojoba, sweet almond, hemp, argan, macadamia. These oils contain, among others, valuable for the skin vitamin E, vitamin A, biotin and antioxidants.

. How to soothe irritation after shaving intimate areas?.

To soothe irritation after shaving intimate areas, wash the skin with warm water and dry the skin thoroughly with a clean towel (preferably cotton). Lubricate the skin with dedicated cosmetics (such as intimate oil). Apply the care daily to calm irritation and prevent it.

. Will I buy intimate oil and intimate massage oil at Rossmann?.

Yes, you can buy intimate oils (for perineal care and hygiene) and intimate massage oils (used during foreplay or masturbation) at Rossmann drugstore. The cosmetics are available stationary and in the Rossmann online shop and app.

. Can intimate oil be used as a lube?.

It is not possible to use intimate oil as a lube. The oil may damage latex condoms. Read the package insert before using the oil. When having sex with a condom (latex or non-latex) it is better to use dedicated gels or lubes.

. What is the best oil for perineal massage?.

The best oil for perineal massage should be natural and plant-based, such as sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, marula oil or hemp seed oil. It should be gentle yet nourishing to the skin.

. Will I buy intimate gel from a pharmacy?.

Yes, intimate gels can be purchased from a pharmacy. Intimate gels are designed to moisturise a woman's intimate area and have a beneficial effect on sexual sensation, relieving vaginal dryness and preventing irritation. They have a different application to intimate oils.

. How does intimate area oil work?.
