Which eye cream to choose: for dark circles, anti-wrinkle, under makeup, night cream, illuminating cream?

      .

There is no one-size-fits-all eye cream that will help in every situation. Choose a formulation that is tailored to your current needs:

      • anti-wrinkle eye creams - will help combat facial wrinkles, crow's feet and all the visible effects associated with skin ageing;
      • .
      • shadow brightening creams - stimulate blood micro-circulation and have a brightening effect, so you can better hide the signs of fatigue, stress or a sleepless night;
      • .
      • eye creams against puffiness - their ingredients reduce puffiness around the eyes, so you get rid of embarrassing "bags" and your skin regains its firmness;
      • .
      • hydrating eye creams - the skin around your eyes is delicate, so keep it moisturised, and dry skin develops wrinkles faster;
      • .
      • multifunctional eye creams - help you with several problems at once and provide holistic care.

Cream, serum, or maybe an eye gel?

      .

In addition to the action and purpose, it is also worth looking at the form of the product in question. Apart from creams, the most common under-eye preparations found in drugstores and pharmacies are:

      .
        .
      • gels (they do not leave a greasy film, absorb faster and refresh the skin),
      • .
      • hydrogel and collagen patches (treat them as an emergency aid for tired under-eye skin),
      • .
      • eye mask (will give your skin energy and vitality),
      • .
      • booster ("fills in" wrinkles and smooths skin),
      • .
      • eye serum (they have a more concentrated formula and can be used "instead of" or "under" a cream depending on the skin's needs) .

Face cream is sometimes not enough, so why do you need a good eye cream and what to look for when buying one? Expert advice

Eye cream has more than one name and should be chosen according to your current needs. This you already know. But why is it so important?

We asked cosmetologist, Wiktoria Zych, for the answer.

As the cosmetologist explains, when choosing an eye cream, you must remember that the skin there is much thinner (on the eyelids it is 0.5-1 mm) and fluidly vascularised than in other parts of the face. There are fewer sebaceous glands, fat padding and collagen fibres and elastin. There are, in turn, more mast cells responsible for allergic reactions.

The eye area also has a weaker support system and lymph and blood flow is slowed down. Due to its specific structure, the skin around the eye is less elastic and more prone to bruising or swelling.

Wiktoria Zych emphasises that only a appropriately selected eye cream will help with the daily care of such sensitive areas. Treatments that stimulate and thicken the skin in this area, such as needle mesotherapy, will also be of great help.

The skin under the eyes is also very important.

Equally as important as the choice of product is regular use and proper application.

.
The eye area is not only the lower eyelid, where we apply cosmetic pads. The area around the upper eyelid, temples or around the eyebrows also need care. When applying eye cream, keep this in mind and apply it in a circular motion. A gentle, brief massage will stimulate micro-circulation and have a positive effect on the cream.

Worth knowing!

.

Creams and cosmetics are sometimes not enough. It's worth taking care of your skin from the inside too. The key will be proper supplementation and the supply of nutrients that will support your fight against the effects of skin ageing.

What to look for in eye cream formulations?

      .

When faced with choosing a particular product, it's worth looking at its composition. Ingredients to look out for on labels and leaflets include:

      .
      • caffeine - will help with dark circles under the eyes and puffiness by improving microcirculationand;
      • .
      • hyaluronic acid - ideally hydrates the skin and binds water in it ;
      • .
      • vitamin C - as an antioxidant, it fights free radicals to keep the skin younger for longer, it also works to brighten and reduce hyperpigmentation;
      • .
      • retinol - a derivative of vitamin A stimulates natural collagen production and ultimately thickens the skin.
.

Remember

If you are having trouble choosing a particular product and are unsure what substances and ingredients will be best for your skin, seek professional help from dermatology or cosmetology specialists.

Conditioning your skin, hair and nails also requires mental balance and a good night's sleep. Read how you can take care of them:

I hope that choosing the best product will no longer be a problem. However, if you still have questions, please write about them in the comments - we will dispel all your doubts.

Summary

      .
.

Remember:

  • The eye cream should be used independently of facial cosmetics because of the specific structure of the skin in this area - it is thinner and more delicate
  • .
  • The right eye cream should be tailored to your needs and the problems you want to get rid of (e.g. wrinkles, signs of ageing and fatigue, puffiness, dry skin).
  • The right eye cream can be used for all skin types.
  • On the market, in addition to classic creams, there are also gels, masks, hydrogel and collagen eye patches or serums.
  • .
  • Seek products that are clinically tested, with ingredients that have been scientifically proven to work and, if necessary, ask a competent professional for advice.
  • .
  • You can put an end to the nightmare of "bags under the eyes", puffiness and tired skin. You can strengthen, moisturise and brighten  -  all you need to do is take care of your daily care with the help of an eye cream.

FAQ

.
. What is a good eye cream for wrinkles 40+? .

Good creams for wrinkles should have, among other things, the following in their formulation:

.

It is also worth looking for green tea or grape seed extract in them, which supports the production of collagen.

Creating products for specific age groups is more of a marketing exercise than a decision dictated by a fully scientific approach. Always choose anti-wrinkle creams or facial serums based on your skin's current needs and concerns, and don't worry about the label on the packaging.

. What is a good cream for bags under the eyes? .

If you want to get rid of bags under the eyes, use cosmetics that are moisturising and slightly illuminating. Look for vitamin C, caffeine and horse chestnut extract, as well as hyaluronic acid in the formulation of such eye creams or serums.

. Is vitamin A ointment good under the eyes? .

Good vitamin A ointment is a popular skincare product for adults and children with a wide range of uses. It helps regenerate the skin, moisturises it and reduces inflammation. It can be used on the whole body - including the face and under the eyes.

. Cream for haemorrhoids under the eyes - is it safe? .

Despite reports of celebrities using haemorrhoid ointment under the eyes, this is not a safe solution. This is unanimously confirmed by dermatologists.

Some of the ingredients in popular haemorrhoid creams have a shrinking effect and can reduce swelling under the eyes. These have a short-lasting effect, while other substances can harm the skin under the eyes.

Choose a good cream for hemorrhoids.

Choose a good eye cream and regularly do a gentle lymphatic massage - you can use your fingers for this or a small roller, which you can sometimes get in a kit with the cream.

. How to apply an eye cream .

Choosing the right eye cream is one thing. The results of your care depend primarily on regular use and proper application.

  • Clean and dry your skin.
  • .
  • Apply a little cream to the upper eyelids and under the eyes - be careful not to let the product get into the eye!
  • .
  • With the pads of your small fingers, pat and massage the cream into the skin - until absorbed.
  • .
. What is the best vitamin for under-eye wrinkles? .

The most powerful and well-researched antioxidants are vitamin E and vitamin C. Vitamin E protects against dryness and loss of elasticity, while vitamin C brightens the complexion, strengthens blood vessels and promotes collagen synthesis.

. How to firm up the skin under the eyes .

The most popular and one of the most effective treatments to revitalise the skin under the eyes is micro-needle mesotherapy. During the treatment, the cosmetologist injects hyaluronic acid and complexes of ingredients into the deep layers of the skin to increase the production of collagen and stimulate cell metabolism, among other things.
