Form: capsules, 60 pieces

Daily serving: 2 capsules

Cosmetologist's comment:

Sundose has prepared a well-considered formulation free of GMOs, preservatives, pesticides and dyes. The high dose of field horsetail extract is an irreplaceable source of silicon, which plays a key role for the condition of nails, hair and skin. The B vitamins are responsible for normal cell division, protein and fat metabolism and play an important role in immune processes. In addition to strengthening the nails, we can count on a better mood, increased performance and energy. Supplement suitable for people with lactose intolerance, celiac disease or limiting gluten in their diet.

Silicon is an essential element for growth, calcification and bone mineralisation. It is also used in the prevention of osteoporosis.

Silicon is also used in the prevention of osteoporosis.

.

Bioactive Marine Collagen

.
.

As many as 3 types of marine collagen, which will not only strengthen your nails, but also firm your skin and moisturise your hair from the inside.

.

Active ingredients: marine collagen 100%

.

Form: sachets to dissolve in water, 30 sachets

Daily portion: 1 sachet

Cosmetologist's comment:

The supplement contains three types of collagen: I, II and III, the building blocks of bones, joints, tendons, skin and nails. The effects of the treatment include not only improving the condition of nails, reducing their brittleness and reducing splitting - hair and skin will also benefit. Collagen has been shown to increase the hydration and firmness of the epidermis, the immune system, support the digestive and circulatory systems and even increase energy!

The body's production of natural collagen decreases after the age of 25 and stops in women during the peri-menopausal period. In order to maintain health and beauty, care should be taken to continuously stimulate collagen production. The use of dietary supplements is one of the most effective forms of this stimulation.

.

The supplement is sufficient for 1-2 months of treatment, depending on demand.

Himalayo Tibet Collagen Caps

.
.

Well-absorbed, valuable hydrolysed collagen together with bio sea buckthorn extract for strong nail plate, firm skin and shiny hair.

.

Active ingredients: hydrolysed marine collagen type I, bio extract of Tibetan sea buckthorn, type II collagen from shark cartilage (full formulation on product page)

Form: capsules, 100 pieces

Daily serving: 8 capsules

Cosmetologist's comment:

Collagen types I and II enriched with Tibetan sea buckthorn extract, an excellent source of vitamin C, is a nourishing combination for nails and hair. It is worth noting that the collagen contained in the capsules here is in a hydrolysed form - the easiest and most effective for absorption into the body. The relatively high recommended daily frequency of intake may be problematic - this makes the preparation slightly less effective, but still worth recommending.

.

.

Revenal

.

Bomb of nutrients for the beauty of your nails, skin and hair: vitamins, minerals, yeast and amino acids.

.

Type: dietary supplement

Packaging: 60 tablets

Daily serving: 1 tablet

Cosmetologist's comment:

Plus for the presence of silica from bamboo extract, which is valuable for nails, in the formulation and its standardisation. The manufacturer provides information on how much of this silica there is - this increases its credibility. Revenalu has the advantage of yeast and sulphur amino acids, which build the structure of hair and nails. The B vitamins, iodine, inositol, biotin and iron - important for the condition and appearance of the nails - present in the formula are in a form that is well absorbed by the body.

.

Vitamin Code RAW Zinc

Dietary supplement.

Daily serving: 2 capsules

Cosmetologist's comment:

A dietary supplement with a complex, interesting composition. Noteworthy is the content of probiotic bacteria. A properly functioning microbiome produces B vitamins in our intestines, which are important, among other things, for the condition of the nails. A healthy bacterial flora promotes the absorption of MSM (organic sulphur), another mineral that is valuable for hair and nails. The composition also contains a good amount of zinc and vitamin C. The product is vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free.

The most important vitamins and minerals for nail health

.

What nutrients affect the condition of our nails?

.

B vitamins

.

This group of vitamins is involved in many key processes in the body. Your nails are particularly looked after by vitamin B12 (cobalamin) and B9 (folic acid). Vitamin B12 plays an important role in iron absorption and red blood cell development.

Both of these compounds are essential for maintaining strong and healthy nails. Vitamin B9 is important for nail growth and health as it contributes to the formation of red blood cells and the development of new cells.

Biotin

.

That's right, biotin (otherwise known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H) is one of the B vitamins, but it deserves special mention. It helps in the metabolism of protein-building amino acids, which are essential for nail growth. Research suggests that a diet rich in biotin strengthensand brittle and fragile nails.

Biotin - the queen among beauty vitamins.

.

Read how it takes care of you in the article: Biotin - what it is, action, deficiency, expert opinion

.

Zinc

.

Zinc is needed for cell growth and division in our body. Nails are made up of cells that grow and divide rapidly, so a constant supply of zinc is needed to supportand healthy nail growth. Zinc is also essential for the production and function of hormones, abnormal concentrations of which can manifestand poor nail health.

.

Important!

White spots on the nails can be a symptom ofand a deficiency of calcium or zinc in the body, but also result from, among other things, damage to the plate, skin diseases, allergies.

Iron

.

Iron produces red blood cells that carry oxygen to the organs and every cell in our body, including the nails. Iron deficiencies impairand this important function. Deficiency of this element can lead to deformities of the nail plate (furrowing, concavity, 'spooniness').

Omega acids

.

Omega acids have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. They can reduce inflammation in the nail bed, which nourishes and supportsand the health of the cells that give rise to new plate. A deficiency of these fatty acids can result in dry and brittleand nails.

Collagen

.

Type I collagen is a building block of, among other things, the nail plate. It affectsand the condition of the nail, as well as the skin around it. In one study  participants consumed collagen for six months. After this treatment, they reported an improvement in the condition of their nails and a reduction in the frequency of fractures.

Proteins

.

Nails are made up of a fibrous protein - keratin. It is what gives the nails their elasticity and strengthens the plate. Consuming sufficient protein in the diet is essential to increase the production of keratin and thus create strong nails. The average person with average physical activity should consume 1.3g of protein per kg of body weightand. How much should you eat? Calculate!

Vitamin C

.

This is a busy vitamin that has a multisystemic effectand on our body. While it improves wound healing, acts as an antioxidant and delays the ageing process, it still has time to produce collagen . This is the protein that gives shape, structure and integrity to many tissues and is the building block of nails, hair and teeth. Vitamin C is amazing!

.

Interesting facts

It's unfair, but... men's nails and hair grow faster! The only exception is during pregnancyand, when the growth rate matches that of "men" or is even faster.

.

When to take supplements and vitamins for nails?

.

Support your nails when they need it. However, before starting supplements, do blood tests for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and test your thyroid hormone levels. Consult your doctor for the results.

Why get tested?

.

  • Ensure yourself if and what deficiencies you have - you won't be supplementing blindly.
  • .
  • By knowing what your specific deficiency is, you can save money and buy one rather than three dietary supplements.
  • If you have a deficiency, you'll be able to make the most of it.
  • Excess does harm! It's better to be sure of the nutrients your body needs.
  • .

Deficiency testing

.

For nail problems such as brittleness, splitting, brittleness, plate distortion, it is a good idea to carry out the following blood tests to determine the concentration of:

  • zinc,
  • .
  • iron,
  • .
  • ferritin,
  • .
  • vitamin D3,
  • .
  • vitamin B12,
  • .
  • transferrin (transports iron in the blood).
  • .

Thyroid tests

.

An abnormal concentration of thyroid hormones can manifest as deterioration of our nails.

Doing the following tests will give you a broad diagnostic picture and allow your doctor to more accurately identify the problem:

.

  • thyroid hormones - TSH, FT-3, FT-4,
  • .
  • extended morphology,
  • .
.
The family doctor may make referrals for the following: blood count (basic or expanded), thyroid hormone TSH and FT-3, FT-4 - when such an additional test may be helpful in making the diagnosis of the disease. In addition, he may refer us for a serum iron determination.
.
Dr Witold Tomaszewski.

Witold Tomaszewskidoctor of medical sciences

.
.

A specialist endocrinologist can give you a referral for zinc, ferritin, vitamin D3 and B12 levels. You can also have these done in a private laboratory.

Symptoms of vitamin deficiency seen on nails

.

How can we recognise that we may be deficient in nutrients that are essential for, among other things, proper nail growth? Look out for these symptoms:

  • broken nails,
  • .
  • splitting nail plate,
  • slow nail growth.
  • slow nail growth,
  • .
  • deformation of the nail plate,
  • disfiguration of the nail plate
  • pigmentation, streaking,
  • .

Do you notice these symptoms in yourself? Make an appointment for a consultation or blood test.

Take care of your hands as a whole too. If you have cracked nail cuticles and 'burrs' - try home remedies like soaking your hands in warm castor oil, or buy a moisturising and oiling hand cream.

Take care of your hands too.

.

Interesting fact

.

The keratin (nail builder) you see is actually... deadand. Nails are formed  by dead cells, which the body removes as new cells "push out from under them".

How to take care of your nails? Advice from a cosmetologist

.

In addition to a varied diet and supplementation, take the advice of cosmetologist Catherine Srebr and take comprehensive care of your claws! Try to do one of the things on the list below today.

.

  1. Do not bite your nails. This weakens the structure of the plate, softens it and is unhygienic. This habit can be unlearned. Try nail polishes with a bitter aftertaste and look for other ways to relieve stress.
  2. Buy natural nails. Say goodbye to hybrids and gel and enhance the beauty of your natural nail plate, such as with a Japanese manicure.
  3. Remove polish with reason. Avoid nail polish removers with acetone, which dries out the plate.
  4. Moisturise, lubricate, pamper! Buy good hand and foot creams. Establish a massage ritual every evening, rubbing the cream thoroughly into your skin and nails. Relaxation and nourishment in one!
  5. .
  6. Purchase good quality conditioners and nail polishes. Consciously choose cosmetics. Avoid conditioners that have formaldehyde in their ingredients. This is a powerful preservative that initially strengthens and hardens nails spectacularly, but over time weakens them, dries them out and can lead to increased brittleness, onycholysis or nail disease.

Summary

.

.

From this article remember:

.
  • The best nail supplements have thoughtful formulations. Look for well-absorbed vitamins, minerals, amino acids, omega acids, and collagen in them.
  • The best nail health supplements are the ones that are the best.
  • If your nails are brittle, splitting or in poor condition, get blood tests. Your body is signalling that it needs support.
  • .
  • Take care of your nails from the outside in. Buy a good hand and foot cream. Take the time to massage and groom.

. What are the signs of split nails? .

Splitting nails are indicative of weakened nails for reasons such as:

  • hormonal disorders,
  • .
  • deficiency of vitamins and minerals,
  • .

. What vitamins are missing when nails split? .

When nails split, it may signal a deficiency of B vitamins, vitamins A and E and vitamin C. There may also be a lack of minerals valuable to the nail plate such as zinc, iron, calcium and silicon. Make sure to diversify your diet with foods rich in these nutrients.

. What for brittle and splitting nails? .
