Best liver supplements - ranking
.
When preparing the ranking - together with a pharmacist - we took specific criteria into account. As a result, we have the best products available on the market for you. We paid particular attention to:
- Composition. Tired of mysterious ingredients in supplements? You won't find that in our list. During the product selection process, we focused on formulations that have a balanced composition, free of so-called fillers.
- Substances.
- Active substance. No one would want to take supplements in which the content of the active ingredients is similar to food products. Only formulations that can significantly affect the state of the liver have been given a place in the ranking.
- Dosing. Swallowing several tablets a day is no fun. There are no liver supplements in our ranking that need to be taken more than 3 times a day.
How do liver supplements work?
.
Liver supplements support the function of this organ thanks to several active ingredients. Here's what the most valuable ones are.
- Sylimarin. This is a constituent of thistle - it has a protective and regenerative effect on the liverand. It also has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties. Silymarin supports the digestive process.
- Turmeric ingredients. Curcumin supports bile secretionand, which positively affects liver function.
- Cinarin and chlorogenic acid. These are contained in the artichoke. They supportand the process of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
- Glutathione and cysteine. Most often, the ingredientsand these are just an addition to an already great supplement. Glutathione and cysteine have a detoxifying effect.
Curcumin has been shown to have numerous health-promoting benefits, so it is worth considering supplementation.

How to dosage liver supplements?
.
Liver supplements -just like any other preparations-should be dosed according to the recommendations of the manufacturer, doctor or pharmacist. Don't increase the dosage, even if you feel there s something wrong with your health. It is possible that you need an OTC medicine (with higher doses of active ingredients) rather than a supplement.
Furthermore, if your health is not improving despite supplementation with liver products - make an appointment to see your doctor.
Liver supplements and weight loss
.
Liver supplements can gently support weight loss. However, pharmacist Ilona Krzak emphasises that these preparations are not for this purpose. Therefore, we cannot expect spectacular results. Liver supplements may support digestion and metabolism, but they will not burn fat on their own.

Can an enlarged liver shrink?"

If the enlargement is due to a blood flow disorder (e.g. hepatic varices, portal embolism), treatment of the underlying condition may help to reduce the liver.
If the enlargement is related to obesity, weight reduction through a healthy diet and regular physical activity may be the solution. In some cases, an enlarged liver may require surgical intervention.
