Verisol - what is it?
Verisol collagen is hydrolysed type 1 collagen extracted from animal skin tissues. It is a patented form of collagen with high bioavailability and research-proven efficacy. Verisol affects collagen metabolism from within, increases skin hydration and improves the appearance ofand.
Verisol consists of collagen peptides. These are collagen fragments that are formed by enzymatic hydrolysis, which breaks down collagen into smaller molecules. Collagen peptides are smaller and lighter, so they are absorbed into the body more easily and quickly than other forms of collagen. They have research-proven efficacy on skin conditionsand.
Peptides - small but crazy.
Verisol collagen types
German manufacturer Gelita has produced three types of this collagenand:
- Verisol P,
- Verisol F,
- Verisol B,
In scientific studies, all of them have shown the potential to improve the condition and appearance of the skin and complexion. They differ in their sources and production processand. Below is a brief description of each. From now on, pay attention to the last letter in Verisol's name when describing a dietary supplement.
Hydrolysed type 1 collagen.
Collagen type |
Origin |
Properties |
Verisol P (Peptides) |
Pork |
Hydrolysed type 2 collagen from pig hair. This collagen protein is the most commonly used form in dietary supplements, cosmetics and functional beverages. |
Verisol F (Fish) |
Hydrolysed type 1 collagen from smoked cod skin. It is characterised by a strong flavour and aroma from the smoking and is therefore less commonly used in dietary supplements and cosmetics, and more commonly used in food products. |
|

Hydrolysed collagen derived from cattle and consisting of peptides of collagen type 3 and type 1. |
Summary
All three types of Verisol are based on hydrolysed collagen, but differ in their sources and production process.

Verisol collagen - properties
The manufacturer has taken care to back up the claims about the properties of its collagen with scientific studies. I've collected some of them - check out how Verisol affects skin, hair and nails.
Reduces wrinkles
There is an opinion among Verisol collagen users that it is a real wrinkle iron. Only that it's from the inside out (beauty from within, remember?).
In a 2014 study, 114 women aged 45-65 were separated into two groups. For eight weeks, one took 2.5g of Verisol collagen and the other took a placebo.
The women in the study were given a placebo.
The lucky women in the collagen supplement group had a reduction in the volume of wrinkles around their eyes. In addition, they were found to have significantly higher levels of type I procollagen (65%) and elastin (18%) compared to women receiving placebo.

Improves skin elasticity
Another study from the same year involved 69 women aged 35-55 years. Oral supplementation with Verisol collagen for 5 weeks improved skin elasticity, and the treatment effect was still maintained after 8 weeks of useand.
A slightly more recent study from 2020 also showed a significant improvement in skin elasticity in women who supplemented collagen for two months with a portion of 5g Verisoland.
Reduces cellulite
The 2015 study involved 105 women aged 24-50 with moderate cellulite . The degree of cellulite was assessed before starting supplementation and after 3 and 6 months of intake. In addition, the appearance and waviness of the skin and the density of the dermis were assessed. They used 2.5g of Verisol collagen per day for 6 months.
The study showed that supplementation with this collagen has a beneficial effect on the extracellular matrix of the skin and can help reduce cellulite. This effect is more pronounced in normal-weight women than in overweight women.

Promotes the appearance and growth of nails
The positive effect of Verisol on nails was shown in a 2017 study involving 25 women aged 26 to 50. What did the six-month supplementation produce? A reduction in the number of cracked or splitting nails (42% decrease) and 10% faster growth.
Women also noticed a marked reduction in nail edge irregularity. As many as 80% were fully satisfied with the effect of Verisol collagen. In addition, 75% described their nails as stronger and 71% felt they grew fasterand.
Improves hair health
The 2020 study divided 44 women aged 39-75 into two groups. They supplemented with 2.5g of Verisol or a placebo for four months. Collagen use led to a significant increase in hair thickness, while a slight decrease was observed in the placebo group, confirming Verisol's benefits for improving hair structureand.
The Gelita company has focused its research on Verisol on its effects on beauty. However, you have certainly heard about the positive effects of collagen on joints. Indeed, collagen does not act selectively, your musculoskeletal system - joints, muscles and bones will also benefit from supplementation.
The German manufacturer also has other patented formulas for joints, bones and muscles. These include Fortigel, Fortibone and Bodybalance.

Verisol collagen dosage
Collagen Verisol has positive effects on the skin already at a dose of 2.5 g per day. A double dose of 5 g can work faster. Regularity and daily intake of collagen is key. You will see and feel the best results on your own skin after a minimum of 4 weeks of treatment (don't worry about when exactly you drink collagen, focus on doing it regularly).

Contraindications to use
The main collagen Verisol contraindication is hypersensitivity to the active ingredient - animal proteinand. Avoid Verisol F (Fish) collagen if you are allergic to fish and seafood (look out for terms such as fish collagen, sea collagen or marine collagen).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, advise your doctor before starting collagen supplementation. The effect of collagen on the mother-to-be and the foetus is unknown - there are no studies with humansand. Note that Verisol supplements may contain other active ingredients that are not recommended during pregnancy (e.g. vitamin A).
Side effects
The use of Verisol collagen preparations is safe and rarely causes side effectsand. The occurrence of side effects is usually related to hypersensitivity to animal protein or allergies . You may then experience: abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation or nauseaand, which should pass after discontinuing the supplement or reducing the dose
When will I see the effects of the supplement?
In research studies involving women of all ages, the first positive effects were visible and noticeable even after 4 weeks of taking Verisol. At first sight, the condition of the skin improves, and then it goes uphill - the structure of the hair and nails improves.
I recommend that you take photos before you start supplementation, for example of your nails, your bangs or the skin around your mouth and eyes. Compare them after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of collagen use. This way you can coolly see if and what has changed.
Who is Verisol for?
Verisol collagen is for you if you want to:
- reduce the appearance of wrinkles,
- improve skin elasticity and tone,
- reduce cellulite,
- improve the condition of hair,
- strengthen the nail plate and accelerate nail growth,
